Cellulose Insulation is an excellent sound proofing insulation product for homes and all types of buildings
Below are a few of the many different possible wall, floor and ceiling construction options. Each wall, floor or ceiling assembly has a different performance for Thermal (R value), Sound (STC) and Fire Resistance. You will find following a few sample construction assemblies, many other options are also possible. Exterior Wall

EW1a – Exterior Wall Wood Stud
- 2×4 wood studs spaced 16 or 24 o.c.
- 3.5 thick Weathershield/Weathershield / ProCell TM cellulose insulation (wet-spray or dense pack)
- 1 layer 5/8 Type X drywall
- Exterior sheathing and siding
- FRR 1 hour

Floors

F3b – Wood Floor Joists
- Subfloor of 5/8 plywood, OSB or waferboard
- Wood Joists or Wood I-Joists spaced no more than 24 o.c.
- With cellulose insulation in cavity
- 150 mm thick loose fill Weathershield / Weathershield / ProCell TM cellulose insulation
- 90 mm thick wet-spray Weathershield / Weathershield / ProCell TM cellulose
- Add 1 STC per 50 mm thickness increase in insulation depth up to max of joist depth
- 1 layer 5/8 Type X drywall in cavity

F20f – Wood Floor Joists with concrete topping
- 1.5 concrete topping
- Subfloor of 5/8 plywood, OSB, or waferboard
- Wood Joists or Wood I-Joists spaced 16 o.c.
- With Weathershield / Weathershield / ProCell TM cellulose insulation filling the cavity with a density of 2.5 lb/ft3 that is supported by zinc-coated galvanized poultry fence fabric having 1 hexagonal openings and made using 20 gauge wire
